The Rolex, Oyster Perpertual Date, Submariner, ref. 16610 belongs to the professional line. The reference 16610 was introduced in 1989 and is the date model Submariner. It was produced until 2010 when it was replaced by reference 116610 with larger case and ceramic bezel. This watch features an aluminum bezel, narrower lugs, pierced lugs and narrower crown guards compared to its successor. The model is no more in production.

The present model is fitted with a water-resistant stainless steel, tonneau-shaped Oyster case with plain lugs, a sapphire crystal with magnifying loup, crown guards and screwed down 6.80 mm Triplock crown, a screwed case back, a Rolex Oyster Fliplock bracelet, ref. 93250, with secured deployant clasp.  Inside ticks a certified chronometer Rolex movement, caliber  Rolex 3135 with 31 jewels, hack mechanism, rhodium-plated, shock absorbers, self compensating Breguet balance spring. Under the sapphire crystal, a gloss black dial with applied white gold luminous dots, triangular and baton indexes, luminous hands, sweep center second, aperture for the date at 3, outer minute/second division, dial signed « swiss made » at his bottom. the inner bezel (Réhaut in french) is engraved all around « ROLEX » and engraved with case number « V618210 ». Case number and Reference are also engraved between the lugs. The inside back is engraved « 2160 » , as case back are also used for other references.  The deployant clasp is engraved LT4, which correspond to the correct year of the present watch, end of 2009. Dial, case and movement are signed.

Condition: 8.5/10, in original unpolished condition, some signs of wear and small nicks in places due to normal wear, otherwise still attractive overall condition, movement in working condition, may required a service in the future, original guarantee, pearl at 12 slightly damaged.
